Repository Escrow

The rights of IP owners and software developers can be protected with a Configuration-Management-Repository. Chaperon Secure Active Source Code Escrow (CSASCE) is a unique, patent pending technology that allows owners of source code Intellectual Property (IP) to set up a secure, central repository that can be updated regularly and in real time.

Several developers may work on the same project concurrently, each one editing files within their own "working copy" of the project, and sending (or checking in) their modifications to the server. See a statistic sample and another, advanced sample here (4,6MB).

Source code is kept in escrow by FGE in a repository and owners and developers can interact with the code without having to move it. The access level is based on the escrow agreement. This technology gives authorized parties the ability to validate the source code in escrow without consuming time and resources. Version control features keep track of any changes and when they were made. And detailed content and activity reports give all parties an accurate view of repository functions.

What it means to you:
• Escrow is active and up to date, versus traditional approaches
in which escrow software is stale and out of date.
• Direct access to individual file(s) without need to uncompress
or unzip the files.
• No need to wait for shipment of code via couriers or lengthy
downloads from FTP sites.
• Version control features keep track of what has changed and
when it was changed.
• Detailed content and activity reports give an accurate picture
of all activity.

Chaperon Secure Source Code Inspecting Station
The Chaperon Secure Inspecting Station can be used to browse,
view, and inspect source code in a Chaperon Active Source Code
Escrow while making it virtually impossible to copy or pirate it.
Source code is fully protected during shipment and transport
within the secure development environment. Only authorized
parties can inspect the code.

Chaperon Secured Development Environment (CSDE)
Chaperon Secured Development Environment (CSDE) protects
your codes – from creation and transport to storage and retrieval, no
matter where it travels or who is working with it. This full-featured
development environment, securely connected to Chaperon Secure
Active Source Code Escrow, gives remote employees and outsourcing
or off-shoring partners the opportunity to develop, modify, add, compile
and debug your encrypted source code without the risk of any copying
or piracy en-route or onsite. Chaperon is transparent to end users
and software developers, meaning companies can grant access
to source code Intellectual Property (IP) in a highly sophisticated
and secure development environment. The technology is built
with an “always ON” security model – there is no “OFF” switch
for developers.

First German Escrow of Moenchengladbach, Germany, and Chaperon LLC of Louisville, Coloroda , USA , announce a partnership to provide customers with a complete, secure online service for source code inspection and intellectual property escrow services.  The service includes Chaperon’s Secure Source Code Inspecting Station and FGE’s intellectual property protection for software developers (licensors) and business continuity assurance for licensees by placing a verified copy of source code into an escrow account.
